Got like 50 limes sitting around? No, you probably don’t. But luckily this recipe doesn’t require 50 limes. Over the weekend my mom, oldest sister , and I hosted a bridal shower for my middle sister! One of the decorations was filling up a giant champagne glass with alternating oranges and limes (yes a giant champagne glass). So of course we had tons of leftover limes and oranges.
I decided to make a refreshing limeade, especially since its been so hot and muggy out, I figured this would be perfect. It’s super simple, super delicious, and thirst quenching. I do recommend using a lime squeezer, or an electric juicer. I unfortunately don’t own an electric juicer, so I had to do it by hand :(.
Fresh Limeade:
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 8-10 small limes)
- 2-3 cups ice cold water
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp fine salt
- fresh cut lime slices for garnish
1. In a large pitcher whisk together all of the ingredients until blended well. Taste to make sure their a balance of sweetness and saltiness- it should not be too sweet nor too sour.
2. Serve over ice and top with a round of lime. Delicious!
