I can’t believe I’m writing this (or typing it, rather), but I starred in my first car commercial as MYSELF – Chef Priyanka – and it’s for none other than TOYOTA! You heard that right! I am one of the faces for the launch of TOYOTA’s brand new fully electric vehicle the bZ4X for Toyota North America! See the official press release here!

One thing people may not know about me is while I am a chef, author and traveler, one of my passions is CARS! Yes! I’ve never missed going to a NYC auto show with my dad growing up, I own a model car collection (it’s still in my parents home), and am obsessed with driving (hopefully will own a car one day, I just don’t need it in Manhattan!). So this is an absolute dream come true! Plus – I can probably say this with confidence that at least one TOYOTA has been owned in most immigrant/South Asian families over the course of the years, so being the face of their first ever fully electric vehicle is huge for my community and culture!
And what’s amazing is TOYOTA’s mission to do better by the environment, which is what I strive to do everyday just as an inhabitant of mother earth. The bZ4X is a beautiful compact SUV that is fully electric and requires NO gas. And did I mention it is SO FUN to drive?!

Filming a commercial – even if it is just 15 or 30 seconds is a HUGE feat. And this was my first auto commercial shoot experience, so I learned about how they get all those amazing shots! It’s an entire production which took one week and with months of planning involved! We shot this commercial back in March 2022!! It’s incredible to see the size of the team, the coordination, the location scouting, planning – everything! I alone had at least 4 people tending to me at all times! Never underestimate the level of effort involved in anything you see on TV – it’s truly magical!
